Many of the great red wines of the world are blends of several grape varietals, or grapes from different regions or vintages. Think Châteauneuf-du-Pape, famous Bordeaux wines, Spanish Rioja, and even Penfolds Grange.

Blending is an art that involves combining grape varieties with natural synergies, whose different strengths come together to create a more complete wine with enhanced flavour, aroma, and complexity. A perfectly balanced blend results in a wine that is greater than the sum of its parts. Do you have what it takes?

On our ‘Blend Your Own Wine’ tour we head to an award-winning winemaking team in the beautiful Bickley Valley, where the winemakers will take you on a tasting journey through different red wine grape varietals and the art of blending. You will take on the role of winemaker to create your own signature blend to bottle and take home.

• Sample a range of red wine varietals
• Learn about the strength and weakness of each variety
• Tailor-make your own blended red wine
• Label and bottle your blend to take home

After you have mastered the art of wine blending, we will head across the Bickley Valley for a relaxed winery lunch. You'll sample their estate grown varietals, then enjoy a European-style grazing lunch of cured meats, antipasto, cheeses and Flammkuchen, followed by dessert, overlooking the vineyard and valley. After lunch you will be dropped back at your selected pick up point, approx 3.15pm.
